Tess of the d’Urberville :: Literary Analysis, Thomas Hardy

Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles is an analysis on Victorian culture. Be that as it may, the major, general thought it reprimands is the presence of genuine affection. Through the connections Tess has been in, just as the time period in which Hardy lived in, it has become apparent that there will consistently be a defect with sentiment. In the first place, Hardy composed pragmatist works of writing. So as to escape the â€Å"fantasy† of Romantic works authenticity was a reaction in which the genuine social qualities of life were outlined. This is obvious in Tess of the d’Urbervilles as Tess is portrayed as admitting to the state of our planet, â€Å"a scourged one† (40). By conceding life and Earth to be a rotting one, Hardy has indicated that things could be better, a significant point of view of other social scholars of his day. Be that as it may, just as being a writer, Hardy was an artist and an eminent one at that too. In his sonnet â€Å"Between Us Now† Hardy again exhibits qualities of a pragmatist essayist: â€Å"Let there be truth finally/Even if despair† (lines 7, 8) implying that he will be acceptant of both reality and its results. Along these lines, Hardy is totally fit for portraying social issues, and does as such in Tess. Presently, the principal significant relationship Tess is in is with Alec d’Urberville in which she is enslaved to abuse. One of the most clear instances of the way Alec treats Tess in the nursery, where he takes care of her strawberries while she was â€Å"in a slight distress† and even smokes before her, in spite of the fact that she asserts that she minds â€Å"not at all† (52). Presently the more clear model, the strawberry misuse, suggests the assault which comes later on in the novel. She is compelled to expend the strawberry despite the fact that she would prefer â€Å"take it in [her] own hand† (52), clearly indicating refusal at an unpolished state, notwithstanding this Alec shamelessly smoked around her, which isn't just ill bred yet dangerous to her wellbeing. The â€Å"narcotic haze† (52), which pervaded the rooms Alec and Tess were in, acted like cryptic amnesiac billows of death. They constrained perceivability as well as stifled Tess and harmed her in the long run later on. This is additionally corresponding to her assault in that the harm done by Alec was imperceptible for quite a while in the two cases. Later on in the novel, Alec is without further ado changed over into a faithful Christian however is â€Å"tempted† by Tess, whom he calls a â€Å"dear accursed witch of Babylon† (377).

Poetry Prescriptions

Poetry Prescriptions Scene: Monday night in a green boarding house. Poetry books, cookie crumbs, and light are scattered across the dining room tables. There is a lively murmur and a beat in the background. IAP is one week in. I spent the weekend drawing, cutting, and gluing together my first project for a month-long intensive Introduction to Architecture and Environmental Design class, taking a break to walk along the Charles with a new-ish friend, have dinner with an older one, and attend the latest iteration of the Wandering Cricket Night Market after a thunderstorm. Now, after dozens of hours in the architecture studio and a full day of presentations and review, Im deciding to be at home. Im taking stock of the semester that passed. In the beginning, it was like a full-blown middle-school crush. I had a giant crush on MIT. I signed up for a million classes (five and a half, actually, or 66 units, which number turns out to feel like a million to me) and I loved them all and walked around feeling fireworks all the time. I moved to pika, and with Michael Waldrep, a masters student in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, made this. In This Building: 69 Chestnut Street, or pika from MIT CoLab on Vimeo. Video by Michael Waldrep. October and September: I took weekends away. I camped in New Hampshire with MIT Outing Club, listened to bluegrass at the FreshGrass festival Mass MoCA, toured the rocky outcrops of western Massachusetts and upstate New York with my geology class, 12.001, and went to Maine with forty-something urban planners-in-the-making, among whom the median age was mine plus six or ten years. My schedule was a series of marvelous adventures. Regrettably, I didnt blog. Cambridge Carnival in September. Julia Ellermeier, 14 and Christopher Sarabalis, 14 at FreshGrass FreshGrass Bluegrass Roots Festival at Mass MoCA, North Adams. A sculpture at Mass MoCA. Bryant Pond, Maine with the MCP (Masters in City Planning) crowd. November and December: I did psets. I did psets and wrote essays. I wrote essays. I still loved most of my classes. I loved Voice and Meaning, the writing class I took with Ta-Nehisi Coates, the best teacher Ive had in my entire life aside from my dad*. I loved the half-semester class I took on multimedia and place-based storytelling. That ended, and the psets kept coming, and I waxed nostalgic for high school daysnot because I wanted to be in high school again, but because I missed having time to lie down. I stressed out. I came close to a couple of meltdowns. I counted on my roommates to help me chill out. I made half-formed jokes, drank buckets of tea, and cooked for forty every Friday night. Thats how pika works. It was a hell of a semestermostly in a good way,   not always, but mostly. Im still sorting it out in my head. Im drawing conclusions.** At the end, I went home. I have a few homes now: the one I live in, the one I left, the one my family keeps. I went back to Santa Fe, where it could be t-shirt weather with snow on the ground, snow only in the shadows of junipers, where there are Christmas cholla blooming yellow and the Center for Contemporary Arts shows movies every night and serves popcorn with nutritional yeast. The bookstore I frequent in Santa Fe was once a jail that held Billy the Kid. My family lives in a small rented adobe two blocks from my sisters elementary school, a mile from the old city plaza. In the days leading up to Christmas, people line the sidewalks with farolitos (tea lights in paper bags weighed down with sand), and on Christmas Eve, an informal parade flows up Canyon Road. There are campfires in driveways, where you can stand by strangers to warm your hands, and there are jugs of hot cider set out unattended for you to drink. There are men in top hats playing carols on trombones and couples hol ding hands. Home was beautiful. My family is crazy and good. I read a lot at home, and I started writing poetry. Tonight, after dinner, I brought out my stacks of books and offered my friends prescriptions. Tell me your problems and your life, and Ill give you a poem to address them. They asked for poems to address existential angst, pretty girls, and sleeplessness. I did my best. Ill do it for you, too. Write to [emailprotected], tell me something about you, and Ill send you a poem. Christmas Eve in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Photo credit to Jacob Ahrens-Balwit, UW-Madison. *Having a five-year-old sister, I get to see for myself, from a new perspective, how my dad taught me about the world. My last night in Santa Fe, he told a bedtime story in which Wee Willy Winky and Jacques Cousteau were brothers. The acronym scuba stood for little can of air I strap on my back. While Wee Willy Winky made his nightly rounds, Jacques Cousteau learned how to breathe underwater. When W.W.W. returned home, exhausted by the effort of convincing rowdy kids go to bed, brother Jacques told him stories of shimmering turquoise water and strange colorful fish. In a surprising twist, W.W.W. has sleep apnea, and when he falls asleep in the middle of his brothers story, Jacques hooks him up to the little can of air. Wee Willy Winky dreams of marvelous fish and a man in scuba gear swimming toward him. **Conclusion number one is that I have to blog more. I write all the time, but I have a little stage fright. I talk to strangers all the time, but not to so many at once, and not from such a distance, the way Im talking to you right now. My next blog post, in one week, will contain the rest of my conclusions.

Effects Of Aging On The Body Essay - 1600 Words

Aging is the process of growing older, one communal progression that all individuals experience. Aging, as all know, causes numerous changes to the human body. One of the leading shifts the body undergoes is an overall decrease in muscle mass. This loss can result from either a sedentary lifestyle (secondary aging) or by following a natural body course (primary aging). By maintaining an active lifestyle, individuals are able to delay the effects of aging on the body. They are able to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. For elderly individuals diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, preserving and increasing muscles mass is a crucial part of controlling the disease. During active observations, research, and personal interviews, I was able to fully understand the effects exercise had on individuals with Type 2 Diabetes. Studies have found that one out of every four individuals 65 years and older will be diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Also known a s â€Å"adult-onset or noninsulin-dependent†, Type 2 Diabetes is a disease that â€Å"affects the way your body metabolizes sugar (glucose).† (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2016) Glucose metabolism is affected in one of two ways, either resisting or undersupplying insulin within the bloodstream. Earliest Samples Four of the earliest studied specimen known to hold HIV were, A plasma sample taken in 1959 from a adult male life in Congo, from a lymph node sample from an grownup female besides from Congo, an American adolescent who died in 1969 and a tissue sample from a Norse crewman who died around 1976. After these surveies it was suggested that first instances of HIV were introduced into human around 1940s or the early 1950s. It was farther suggested as a consequence of a new survey that the first instance of HIV-1 occurred around 1931 in West Africa based on a complex computing machine theoretical account of HIV development. Subsequently a survey in 2008 dated the beginning of HIV to be between 1884 and 1924 and demonstrated that variegation of HIV-1 occurred long earlier AIDS pandemic was recognized. It is suggested that when AIDS was foremost noted in 1981 there were an approximative figure of 100,000 to 300,000 bing instances of AIDS. In these old ages of soundless spread one of the major factors which played a function was international travel. In the US for case, international travel undertaken by immature work forces doing the most of the homosexual sexual revolution of the late seventies and early 80s surely played a big portion in taking the virus worldwide. Similarly in Africa travel within the towns, metropoliss etc. resulted in the spread of the disease. Migration Migration is the motion of people across a specified boundary for the intent of set uping a new or semi-permanent abode. There are assorted types of migrations Cyclic Movement – Involves transposing, seasonal motion and nomadism Periodic Movement – Migrant labour, Military Service related and pastoral agriculture Transhumance Migratory Movement – Includes motion of people from one portion of the universe to another, e.g. from China to Southeast Asia, from Europe or Africa to north America and from Eastern US to Western portion Rural Exodus – Migration from rural countries to metropoliss Forced Migration – Due to disease, war, dearth A ; catastrophe All of these types of migration played a important function in spread of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Migration is governed by certain Torahs of societal scientific disciplines which have following cardinal points. Every migration flow generates a return or counter migration Majority of migrators move a short distance Migrants traveling long distances choose large metropoliss Urban occupants are less migratory than rural dwellers Young grownups are more likely to travel so households Migration occurs because persons search for nutrient, sex and security outside their usual habitation Labor markets in industrialised economic systems are regulated by migration. There are certain factors which force people to travel out of their bing home ground to topographic points which are attractive. These factors are known as push and pull factors as shown in the tabular array. Pull Factors Job chances, Better life conditions, Political and/or spiritual freedom, Enjoyment, Education, Better medical attention, Security, Family links, Industry, Better opportunities of happening wooing Push Factors Not plenty occupations, Few chances, â€Å" Crude † conditions, Desertification, Famine/drought, Political fear/persecution, Poor medical attention, Loss of wealth, Natural Disasters, Death menaces, Slavery, Pollution, Poor lodging, Landlords, Bullying, Poor opportunities of happening wooing Relationship between HIV/AIDS and Migration Linkss between HIV/AIDS and migration are close and complex. The current geographics of the AIDS epidemic is besides the hint to its nexus with mobility. It has been observed in surveies that the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS is non in the poorest states but those with good conveyance substructure, comparatively high degrees of economic development and considerable internal and cross-border migration. Understanding the relationship between mobility and AIDS can therefore aid in the anticipation and therefore the bar of spread elsewhere. There are four cardinal ways in which migration is tied to the rapid spread and High prevalence of HIV/AIDS: There is a higher rate of infection in ‘migrant communities ‘ which are frequently socially, economically and politically marginalized. The societal webs of migrators create chance for nomadic sexual networking. Migration gives in itself as mentioned above chance to people and do them more vulnerable to high hazard sexual behaviour. Migration makes people hard to make through intercessions such as instruction, rubber proviso, HIV proving and post infection intervention and attention. Empirical grounds of the nexus between HIV/AIDS and migration In South Africa the incidence of HIV has been found to be higher near roads and amongst people who either have personal migration experience or have sexual spouses who are migrators. In Southern and West Africa, migratory workers and their sexual spouses have a higher degree of infection rates than general population. You read "HIV And Migration Health And Social Care Essay" in category "Essay examples" Traveling Traders and truck drivers often show stunningly high rates of infection as reported in another South African Study. Boundary line towns have higher rates of HIV prevalence, being topographic points where transients such as truck drivers etc come in contact with local population which is distant from centrally oriented national AIDS control plans. High Hazard Groups Young labourers seeking employment in center or high income states after making as labour immigrants and going economically feasible tend to indulge in active sexual patterns including unprotected commercial sex with multiple spouses. Refugees and internally displaced individuals have besides been found to be particularly vulnerable to HIV infection because of the same break that caused them to migrate. e.g. refuge adult females raped by soldiers. Sexual activity is portion of certain labour civilizations in which migrators from really low socioeconomic backgrounds arrive in countries where physical labour like mining etc is required. These labourers are forced into sex by supervisors and chance suppliers. This includes homosexualism and heterosexualism and so the person has sex with the spouse at place. Peoples who spend clip off from place due to the nature of their work and autumn into multiple short term relationships inclusive of commercial sex, vitamin E g in Zambia low income work forces populating off from place for one or two months a twelvemonth are twice every bit likely to get HIV so work forces populating at place. Gender kineticss besides have different hazards of exposures to HIV in migration as adult females are peculiarly at hazard of transactional sex. AIDS patients and Migration Peoples with AIDS normally return to populate with households to obtain attention. This includes traveling from Urban to rural or from a high income to a low income state. e.g. South Africa to Lesotho Some migrate back to supply attention to patient at place Loss of household income due to decease of a gaining household member by AIDS causes other household members to migrate seeking work chances. In countries where decease and enervation due to HIV is doing diminution in productiveness and addition in poorness, dwellers are forced to travel out. High rates of decease in certain labour sectors forces people to migrate from other parts into that country. Peoples with diagnosed HIV may migrate to avoid stigmatisation by their ain community or to seek better wellness attention for their unwellness. This involves cross-border motions to a state perceived to hold better wellness attention installations. HIV/AIDS decease toll consequences in spreads and economical deficits taking states to seek replacing accomplishments from other parts of the universe. AIDS orphans and widows or widowmans who sometimes are septic themselves besides migrate to populate with other relations or have to remarry confronting resettlement. HIV A ; Migration – Regional impact Europe Harmonizing to important migratory tracts there are considerable differences across Europe. Greece, Portugal. Serbia and Spain provide beginnings casting HIV-1 as these states attract tourers and therefore HIV migrate from southern to Central Europe by agencies of septic travellers. Migratory marks are Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg and therefore highlighted as HIV migratory marks. Bidirectional motion occurs across Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway, Netherland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Luxembourg has the highest rate of imported infections with most tracts arising in Portugal, while Netherlands has been found to hold the most diverse geographical beginning of HIV research workers have found that HIV migration from bi directional states was important. Asia In Asia the most important states in context of AIDS are Bangladesh, China, Srilanka, North Korea, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Mongolia. Although in remainder of Asia the pandemic degree is comparatively low but the nature of socio-economic characteristics can take to an detonation of an epidemic. In India entirely there are 5.1 million people populating with HIV i.e. 2nd largest after South Africa. There are migrators within this part who really frequently face poverty favoritism and development. They besides suffer from disaffection and a sense of namelessness and small entree to healthcare services instruction and separation from households. All these factors make them more vulnerable to get HIV. There is a big incidence of harlotry amongst migrators in these countries along with pattern of unprotected sex and cross boundary line commercial sex work farther lending to distribute of HIV. United states In North America there is high motion of immigrants from all parts of the Earth. USA and Brazil are of import in this context. USA for the past 20 old ages had a policy of prohibition over entry of anyone who is HIV positive. On October 31 2009 the US president announced that the prohibition was traveling to be lifted and from January 2010 anyone positive with HIV will non be denied entry to US on this footing. This proclamation was taken with a positive response in relation to cut downing the stigma associated with HIV. The figure of people populating in Brazil with HIV is 727601 the spread of HIV in Brazil is mostly attributed to the frequent migration of the population within the national boundary lines as opposed to international migration. Australia Australia best exemplifies the relationship of AIDS and migration as because of its independent geographical state of affairs and regulated in-migration Torahs the control of AIDS epidemic has been extremely successful. Australia besides has a policy harmonizing to which any immigrant who is HIV positive at clip of application is denied in-migration or is put in to a procedure of entreaty which is long plenty for the applier to retreat from the procedure. Africa Seventy per cent of the 36 million people septic worldwide with HIV live in Sub-Saharan Africa and within this part the states of Southern Africa are the worst affected. The eight states with the highest rates of infection are in Southern Africa, followed by six states in East Africa, and so five other states, merely one exterior Africa. The grounds why the highest rates of infection in the universe occur in Southern Africa are ill-defined. Although the states of the part have much in common, their histories over the last 20 old ages have been really different. AIDS in Africa is a pandemic affecting lives of over 22.5 million people in Sub Saharan Africa entirely. Swaziland, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Central African Republic, Mozambique, United Republic of Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Cote di Ivoire, Cameroon, Kenya, Burundi, Liberia, Haiti and Nigeria have the highest Numberss of HIV positive patients. Significant illustration of Zimbabwean migration to neighbouring provinces is disputed, estimations range from more than three million people to a few hundred 1000, doing it hard to do an overall appraisal of the spread of HIV/AIDS transference Similarly South African migration undertaking ( SAMP ) found that migration was one of the chief factors lending Proposed Solutions towards cut downing the hazard of HIV spread through migration HIV has been recognized as one of the taking wellness challenges in the universe today so most of the stairss mentioned are already implemented in some states but still spreads in policies and wellness systems need to be filled As proposed by UNAIDS Labor migration policies need to be implemented and integrated in all facets of wellness system including Government statute law, actions by Civil Society, Workers organisations and concerns and international spouses to give maximal protection and services to migrating labour from HIV as a vulnerable group. Health programmes in states should aim non merely the national populations but besides be aimed at migrators, travellers and tourers who are both major beginning and marks of HIV. It is of import non to stigmatise migrators as carriers of disease. Peoples to be kept out is short sighted and encourages xenophobia farther marginalising already vulnerable migratory communities and exacerbates the socio-economic conditions that contribute to distribute of HIV. Legal limitations that attempt to forestall migration create clandestine flows of people, excluded from entree to medical and societal services. Alternatively of ineffectual efforts to forestall people from traveling, there need to be HIV/AIDS intercessions from instruction and bar through proving and reding to intervention and attention that are designed for and targeted at peculiar migratory populations. Focused intercessions in new locations for migrators until they become incorporate good into the new societies. Trans-migrants who have more than one places need intercessions at all their occupant topographic points. Mobile population are the most hard to make but can be given intercessions harmonizing to motions like rubbers at truck Michigans, Education stuff in coachs and nomadic clinics. Rapid response in extremely nomadic signifier for communities seeking safety in conditions like war. Inculcating migrators with instruction, bar, proving and intervention is the best manner of supplying protection to vulnerable communities seeking support through migration. Defining the Sales Target for 2016-2017, based on the environmental analysis In order to define the sales target for the year 2016/17 based on the environmental analysis. It is important to understand that these targets can only be met when there is sustainability in the business as it forms the backbone of every business. Sustainability in business can be seen in two different angles where we have economic sustainability as well as environmental sustainability (Wang Miao2015, p. 2376). Economic sustainability of any business can be achieved through natural capital which comes from the environment, human capital resource which is determined by talented labour, productive capital which results from company productive activities as well as social capital from social trusts and interrelations and finally the financial capital which is used to connect all the other capitals resources and help the company grow and sustain an economy. Environmental sustainability, on the other hand, is directly focused on the physical environment. The sales targets for the year 2016/17 for the company through expansion and entry into the Oman new markets are expected to increase by 5% of the existing sales. To achieve this company will be required to focus more on internal strengths and minimize its weaknesses based on the environmental analysis. The company is also expected to identify new opportunities within the Oman market and maximize them to the benefit of the company. All the operations of the company should be aimed at managing and conserving the environment in order to increase its corporate social responsibility initiatives. Young and middle-aged customers-----------------3% increase The aged group of customers-----------------------2% increase New customers expected------------------------------=(3-2)= 1% expected increase With an increase of sale targets of the three class or groups of customers will help the company attain an annual sales target of 5 % at the end of the year. Since this would be a new market, the first step would be identifying with strangers or the people of the area, which forms a basis for creating awareness (BansalDesJardine, 2014, p. 78). The next step would be to connect with the people, and in this case, the salespeople will give some leads to the strangers they have already identified themselves with. Then from the leads, it is easy to identify the qualified leads and this given a further analysis for consideration. The salespeople are able to explore the leads for sales opportunities and advise them on the company products and may end up becoming company customers. A plan for sales training and techniques for the effective sales performance of the sales team of Aquasana Different managers used different techniques to increase or improve the sales performances of the company based on performance of the sales team. Below is a plan for the sales training and techniques for effective sales performance. The first training technique would understand the product (Gamble Thompson, 2014). This greatly helps in understanding the needs of the customer and tailoring the product to provide the best solution to their problems using the product. The second sales training and technique would be reward specific performances and encourage the sales teams that they are doing a great job which boosts their morale and confidence in their work to become the best. It is also important for the managers to avoid overtraining of the sales team. This can have a negative effect on their natural talents and confidence and therefore the training should be kept short but consistent with microlearning (Crane Matten, 2016). Offering field training is also a very crucial sales technique as it provides a detailed feedback from their moments of interaction and social encounters. However, telling success stories to the sales team does a magic to their productivity. It instills a sense of unity in the company salespeople and encourages them to work harder and even smarter to achieve not only their goals but also the company goals. Customer Relationship Strategies to Build a Loyal Customer Base (flower model) Based on the flower model, it defines various market domains, which are interdependent but not necessarily have the dame importance in the company. Each market domain plays an important role different from each other and Aquasana needs to adopt the domains, which are relevant to help them build a loyal customer base. The figure below shows a Six Market Flower Model which can be effective in building a loyal customer base. Customer markets: The success of a company is dependent on the relationship the company is able to make with its customers. The sales people therefore play are a very important role in fostering the client or customer relationships with the company as they act as the first face of the company. The customers are usually the greatest assets a company can ever have (Johnstonand Marshall, 2016, p. 8). It is therefore important for the management to develop effective customer relationships strategies for the sales team in order to equip them builds a loyal customer base. This can be achievedby learning about your customers or getting to know them. The customers include all the people who have continued using the water filter of Aquasana. The company need to kow the requirements of the customers (Bolander et al. 2015, p. 11). Secondly, it is also important that the sales team learn to live by the customer complaints. These complaints give the salespeople or team an opportunity to hear from the customers of what they think about the product or the service. Referral markets: It is very easy for the company to increase their customer base by taking opportunity of the existing customers. Most companies have therefore developed referral strategy whereby they use their existing customers to refer new clients to them. The existing customers usually have an experience with the company and therefore it is easy for them to trust someone who has had past experiences with the company compared to a stranger (Aranda et al. 2015, p. 1202). Most customers are able to buy or consume a certain product merely because they can trust you and not just because of the product. Recruitment Markets: most companies do not recognize the importance of these markets in building relationships with customers. An employee with the right attitude towards work is likely to contribute to positive relationships as he or she lives as per the brand of the work. However, an employee with a negative attitude despite having the right skills will not be able to bring good clients or customers to the company. The company, therefore needs to be careful on their recruitment strategies and should ensure that they develop the company brand right from the recruitment (Wynn 2012, p. 354). The main goal is to implementing effective customer relationship management strategies aimed at improving customer relationship and contribute to increased client retention. Internal markets: the company can also focus on the internal market as it plays a very important role in relationship marketing. Improving employee relationships within the organization is very critical in developing brand development and enhancing marketing. The company should therefore focus on training the employees and keep them updated with the current market trends, motivate them using both monetary and non-monetary gifts and always feel concerned of their welfare. A satisfied employee will transform the same energy into bringing good clients and customers to the organizations or company compared to unsatisfied employee. The Influence Market: the market is comprised of various market forces, which may directly or indirectly impact on the business. Such markets include the environment markets, the financial markets, government as well as the competitors markets. Having knowledge of these four markets will help the company develop products, which cost effective, competitive in the market and are environmental friendly. A company brand or product that is cautious of these markets is able to build long lasting relationships not only with the customers but also with the external world and hence give it a competitive advantage. Supplier/Alliance Markets: the supplier markets are engaged in selling or distributing the products to relevant business locations and therefore the markets are market based. On the other hand, the alliance markets are knowledge based and provide useful information about a certain product. Such markets are also very critical in building loyal customer based; suppliers can be a channel for marketing a certain product or brand in a certain region while alliance markets develop customer trusts by providing knowledge on the product. The company therefore needs to venture into these markets and utilize any opportunity available to build customer relationships. Conclusion There is indeed great potential for Aquasana to venture into the Oman market. The success of the venture into the new market will depend on the specific sales strategies employed to meet the sales targets for the company. It is therefore important to analyze and have sufficient knowledge on the business environment in which the business operates. Understanding the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats available in the market is a very critical tool for Aquasana to adopt or initiate a sales policy or decision. However, the company has to allocate a sale effort as well as determine the sales force size and identifying the sales territories in the region. The sales team of the company in Oman needs, therefore, to be trained on the sales techniques as well as on customer relationships techniques. This will eventually lead to successful venture into a new market and meet the sales targets of the company. List of References Aranda, C., Arellano, J. and Davila, A., 2014.
